The 9th Pan African Congress is proposed to be held September 2017 that includes Rural Economy and Agriculture Tracks – comments, volunteers?
We, the representatives of the global Pan African family, who supports the African Union and the proposal framework of the FAU Response to the 2015 United Nations Universal Periodic Review of the USA, will gather in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States of America December 30th 2016 and online video conference, telephonic conference calls and collaborative online documents to review progress made thus far since the 8th Pan African Congress in 2015 and to take stock of the continual challenges confronting African persons of African descent globally. This meeting represents the first planning session of the 9th Pan African Congress that is to be held September 2017 in Washington DC.
The 9th Pan African Congress is proposed to be held September 2017 and shall have the following proposed Committee that includes (7) Rural Economy and Agriculture with the following tracks:
- Briefing on the African Union Commission Department of Rural Economy and Agriculture
- Discussion on genetically modified organisms and the food chain
- Briefing on the Malabo Declaration on African agricultural transformation
- Briefing on the implementation of The Department of Rural Economy and Agriculture’s flagship programme the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP)
- Discussion on African Agricultural Development and Food Security
- Proposal discussion to the Inter-African Phytosanitary Council (IAPSC)
- Briefing on the Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (IBAR)
- Briefing on the Pan African Veterinary Vaccine Centre (PANVAC)
- Briefing on the Pan African Tsetse and Trypanosomiasis Eradication Campaign (PATTEC)
- Briefing on the Semi-Arid Food Grain Research and Development (SAFGRAD)
- Briefing on the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) to the United Nations Framework Convention Climate Change and its Kyoto Protocol (UNFCCC) and planning session for COP 23
